Geiranger

Every season has it´s charm!

Winter – Beautiful and quiet. A completely different experience. The feeling of having all the beautiful nature entirely to yourself. Most of the shops and activities are closed during the Winter. But some offer services all year. Please check out visitgeiranger.com for more information. The snow can make it challenging to explore the nature outside the main road (avalanche risk etc.). Cold and changing weather, slippery roads – we recommend good tires on the car and dress warmly!

Spring – calmer, although there may be some days that are busier, but generally much quieter than during the summer months. Some shops/activities may be closed. May/early June is especially beautiful with blossoming, white mountain tops, and the waterfalls are at their largest.

Summer – Like the rest of Fjord Norway the summer season is the busiest. Bustling with people, full of activities and experiences.

Autumn – The pulse of the village slows down after a busy summer season. Some days may still be busy. Most activities and experiences are still available, but some close down in September/ October.

Yes, there is a grocery store located in the center of the village by the fjord. During summer months it´s open every day, but from October – mid May it’s closed on Sundays. The opening hours vary throughout the year.
